About Democratic Press Club
A leading global social organization dedicated to journalists, press freedom, and ethical media practices.
Democratic Press Club
Democratic Press Club is the world’s leading social organization for journalists. It serves its members through unity, awareness, and cooperation, strengthening professional skills through peer networks and social activities. Through these efforts, it has built a strong media community in India and across the world.
Located in the heart of India’s capital at Press Lane, Central Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg in New Delhi, the club enjoys proximity to Parliament House, government ministries, the Delhi Secretariat, Delhi Police Headquarters, and information centers of various states. This strategic location places the organization at the center of journalistic activity.
The idea of establishing Democratic Press Club was envisioned by INN Today Group Editor-in-Chief and senior journalist Dr. Fareed Chughtai. The vision was realized through the efforts of senior journalist Saeed Ahmad, Editor of Webvarta, along with support from veteran journalists and Press Council members across the country.
Registered in 2019, Democratic Press Club continues to grow as journalists from different regions of India join to fulfill its objectives of ethical journalism, media unity, and press freedom. Membership is open to professionals from print, electronic, digital, web portals, blogging, and social media platforms through a fixed subscription fee.
